One of our founding tenets is to turn Evolution Jewels^TM "green" over time. This includes fair trade/human rights/labor rights considerations with vendors & suppliers. We currently manufacture our pieces in the USA with shops that treat workers fairly and pay a livable wage. We work with our manufacturers to ensure that as much recycled precious metals as possible are used in our jewelry. We use recycled paper w/ vegetable-based inks for all marketing materials and product packaging. Our current goal is to identify a baseline of our "green" practices and create an incremental roadmap for improvements.

Another way we walk our talk is thru our policy to support a select handful of non-profits. Our selection criteria are that each organization be focused on progressive solutions related to communities, people, ecological and economic development projects. We donate a percent of sales that come through each of our selected non-profits via fund-raising events, direct sales, and by developing specific products.

In 2003 & 2004, the initial groups we supported were Bioneers and the Watts Garden Club. In 2005, we are very happy to have added support to EarthRights International for their 10th anniversary and Unocal Corp lawsuit victory celebration. In 2006, Evolution Jewels team will contribute to bringing a "Beaming Bioneers" event to Los Angeles. In addition to continued support of Bioneers, The Watts Garden Club, and Earthrights International, we will be introducing an new design - the Tekio Charm -- for another remarkable organization, Tekio. When the design is finished, a percent of the revenue for every Tekio Charm sold will be returned to Tekio organization. Tekio.net is dedicated to empowering marginalized youth by giving them social and entrepreneurial tools and teaching sustainable food and water practices that are transforming themselves, their communities and their environment.
